Bruce Beasley American, b. 1939

About

"I've always held the belief that fine art is the vision of the artist and not defined by the tool of production. These works use technology that best allows me to investigate and communicate what has fascinated me for over sixty years - the aesthetic and emotional potential of complex shapes in space."

Bruce Beasley has always embraced the use of digital to assist his lifelong desire to push the boundaries of the sculpture he makes. Although technological aid in production and fabrication is becoming more of a common occurrence, Beasley’s experimentations of such advancements began in the 1960s.

Beasley has spent his life making sculptures whose shapes and forms defy the restrictions of gravity. 2018 saw Beasley create an entire collection of works in virtual reality, before being 3D printed and cast onto bronze. A series of works completed in collaboration with Europe’s leading bronze foundry – Pangolin Editions.

Beasley is one of West Coast America’s most established and dynamic contemporary sculptors and his work can be found in many important public and private collections around the world.
