Briony Marshall British, b. 1974
Briony Marshall's sculpture is informed by her previous career working in biochemistry and molecular science plays a key role in her artistic exploration.
Using her unique understanding of Biochemistry to explore human existence through her work Marshall beautifully represents the fragility of the human journey through her intricate figures, creating a unique sculptural language which is instantly recognisable.
Marshall and her work are held in high esteem by both the arts and science worlds. In 2015 she was awarded a FIRST@108 Public Art Award and in 2016 she was selected as one of the 175 Faces of Chemistry by the Royal Chemistry Society to celebrate their 175th anniversary. Marshall recently created a highly acclaimed public project raising awareness of plastic pollution in West Norwood, London.
