Breon O'Casey British, 1928-2011
Breon O’Casey’ had a unique talent for pairing down the form and detail of his subjects whilst fully retaining their character and joy.
As the son of famous Irish playwright Sean O'Casey, Breon O'Casey's visual language developed throughout his lifetime and was much inspired by the sea views and coastal surroundings he enjoyed whilst living and working in and around St Ives for over five decades.
A master craftsman in his own right, O'Casey enjoyed almost all disciplines painting, drawing, weaving and jewellery; and only turned to making sculpture in his 70s.
