This is a fine example of Breon O'Casey's approach to depicting the bird as a subject in his sculpture. Elegantly poised, Proud Bird has a lovely rich patina and an irresistibly tactile surface thanks in part to Breon's unusual approach to casting directly from the waxes he skillfully modelled by hand. Proud Bird is one of the largest of Breon O"Casey's table top sized birds and is one of only two artist proof editions left in the edition.
