For 25 centuries, the animal stories which go by the name of Aesop’s Fables have amused and instructed generations of both adults and children. They are still as fresh and poignant today as they were to the ancient Greeks who composed them.
Here, sculptor Susan Bacon and The Cardozo Kindersley Workshop have collaborated on a Tangram inspired by some of the fables. Eight bronze animals are designed to sit atop seven plinths which are painted with words chosen by The Cardozo Kindersley Workshop. As part of an oral tradition Aesop’s Fables have been interpreted in many ways, and so the pieces of the Tangram have been conceived to be interchangeable, allowing the individual to find their own path through these stories.
Each animal is also available individually. Prices start at £500 ex VAT excluding a base please contact the gallery for details.
