'Ship to Shore (Maquette)' is a smaller bronze edition of the powerful 3-metre public sculpture originally commissioned for Portishead Quays, Bristol. Inspired by the history of the dockside, this work echoes the form of shipping bollards still found along the quay. A male figure gazes out to sea, with a female counterpart above, facing the land - symbolising the push and pull of seafaring life, and the Ship-to-Shore radio that connected worlds apart.
