Lisa Traxler British, b. 1965
About
Bright, bold and geometric, Lisa Traxler's playful sculptures are visual puzzles that speculate on memory, time and place.
Through her intricate slotted sculptures, Traxler
explores the boundaries of the second and third
dimensions. She hand-paints each of her works
utilising delicate colouring to create direction and
linear perspective. Drawing inspiration from her
research into the dazzle camouflage of World War
One she creates a complex colour system for her
sculptures referring to them as 'space paintings'
evoking their relationship within their configuration
and form.
