This work draws inspiration from the sacred geometry of Water where an oxygen atom holds tightly to two much smaller hydrogen atoms. I have re-imagined this as a mother with her two small children, connected in time and space. I was fascinated by the idea that we all have inherent preferences in how we live our lives and interact with others, yet these dynamics can shift based on our circumstances and the people we surround ourselves with.

In today’s world, women are called to embody many roles, each as essential as the last. Yet, when our children are young, we find ourselves in a delicate balance, as if drawn into a new shape by their needs and energies. At times, we feel the pull of their spirits, reshaping our lives to accommodate the new patterns they create; at other times, we rejoice in the sacred dance of motherhood. A dance that honours the reciprocity between mother and child, much like the bond between oxygen and hydrogen that gives shape to water, the source of all life.
