Terence Coventry British, 1938-2017
Terence Coventry spent his life surrounded by animals and developed a unique sculptural language that captured the character and charisma of the birds and beasts which he depicted.
After thirty years working as a pig farmer on the rugged Cornish coastline Terence Coventry threw himself into his passion of creating sculpture, celebrating his first London solo show at the age of 72. Coventry is known for his ability to capture the essence and energy of both his animal and human subjects alike. Although minimal, his sculptures erupt with vitality and movement to communicate both the grace and subtle personality of the animals he spent years observing.
